The funding of emergency heart surgeries will be increased in Armenia. The Government has adopted a relevant decision to reduce the overall means of some programs and direct them to the cardiac surgery services as their urgency and the large amount of actual overhaul are kept year by year. It is proposed to increase the total cost of the “Cardiac Surgery Services” program by AMD 194,477.6 thousand. This will compensate for additional 220 heart surgeries by the end of 2017. In response to the Prime Minister's question, Minister of Health of Armenia Levon Altunyan noted that the works on reducing the price of cardiac surgery services continue. According to the minister, it is envisaged to offer a new price proposal in early December, which will be put into practice in January.
