Tatul Hovhannisyan: Sahakyan preferred Sambo
Judo Federation of Armenia has disqualified Judoist Grigor Sahakyan for one year. Tatul Hovhannisyan, General Secretary of the Federation, said this to the Press Service of National Olympic Committee. "Grigor Sahakyan is one of the leaders of the team. During the whole year we prepare him, spend money on him, send him to international tournaments. But he participated in another world championship, being ahead of the Judo World Championship. Sahakyan preferred Sambo," he said. The Federation's General Secretary also noted that they did not forbid sportsmen to participate in other tournaments,when it did not hinder the Judo competition calendar. But the federation's permission should be given.
