Today, the discussion of the Draft Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence at the "Yalaket" club had an unpredictable course of events. The speakers began to argue with each other; the moderator had to intervene and interrupt the press conference. He announced that the press conference was closed because of the argument. First, Artashes Khalatyan, a member of the Chamber of Advocates, questioned the social polls based on which the reasoning of the law was justified. Nare Aramyan, advocate of "Against Legal Arbitrariness" NGO opposed: "Once in life, the Ministry of Justice is doing a good initiative, but..." They started to argue and Khalatyan became angry. "If we turn this into a "fight without rules" rules of debate ... if we say ..., who are you from the organization?" Aramyan said "We do not participate in the language festival, when coming to the press conference, you should have known who your speakers were going to be. You have already spoken enough about making people with normal psyche go crazy." Khalatyan urged Aramyan not to raise the voice. "If you do not like it, you may leave," said Nare Aramyan. Mane Tandilyan, a member of the the Yelk (Way Out) faction, was surprised by the fact that at least 10% domestic violence was not "numbered" by lawyer Khalatyan. Nare Aramyan said "If we they prove that violence is part of our traditional family, then we can become Muslims."
