The words of Makhsudian sisters' songs are incomprehensible even to the Armenian audience. They choose those old Armenian songs on purpose in order to make the accessible to the audience. "My sister and I try to study Armenian song and dance. We try to make the songs comprehensible," said Astghik Makhsudyan. One and a half years ago the sisters created a band. The name is not chosen by chance. "We have chosen the name "A Piece of the Sky" because on the one hand we love the Armenian film, on the other hand our names are Arev(the Sun), Astgh (the Star), as if we are a piece of the sky. We also sing songs that correspond to the name of the ban," said Arev. Astgh has not reached the age of 18 yet, and Arev is only 20. Arev studies Culturology, and Astghik is going to become a designer. Arev works, parallel to her studies and concerts. "I have been working here for the past two years. For students and youngsters it is very convenient to work here because you are doing your favorite job and it is easy to combine it with studies." He said that she liked a lot of books but "My favorite one is Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" because it teaches you to evaluate the real life, its value." Sisters often participate in campaigns because they believe that patriotism begins with the recognition of the Homeland. They are sure that the person who knows his Homeland well will not leave it.
