Visit to penitentiary
On October 17, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office made an unannounced visit to the Nubarashen penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice to see Nerses Poghosyan, who recently declared a hunger strike. Relevant discussions with the medical staff of the penitentiary were held with regard to his health and oversight. Nerses Poghosyan also presented issues related to the trial of his criminal case, which were outside the scope of the Ombudsman's powers.
