Data entry on the items without citizens' participation
All postal and courier services have already been integrated into the system of "International Postal and Communication Services Customs Clearance". In the automated system, data entry on the item is done electronically without the participation of the citizens. Previously, the declaration of the items was carried out exclusively in the customs house and in case of necessity to pay taxes citizens often had to come to Yerevan from different regions of Armenia to carry out customs clearance, which was a time consuming and costly process. Such a procedure also impeded the growth of postal traffic volumes and the development of e-commerce in Armenia. Today, if citizens are required to pay taxes, they pay and receive the item from the nearest post office. From the point of view of customs control, the system enables automated maintenance of full range of items, control over them, ensure automatic reporting, apply data analysis tools and carry out risk assessment, Tax Service of the Republic of Armenia reports.
