Armenian karate players to participate in the World Championship

Armenia's karate players (up to 21)  are preparing for the World Cup which is held in Spain, on October 26-29, Armenian National Olympic Committee official website reports. For the first time karateists will fight for the Olympic rankings. Participans of 2018 Youth Summer Olympic Games in Buenos Aires will be chosen at the World Championship. "Winners of various international tournaments are going to Spain. Hope that our karate players will manage to get Olympic tickets. They will be well prepared till the World Championship. We have expectations for the prizes,” Nikolay Grigoryan, Secretary General of the Armenian Karate Federation, said in the interview to the NOCA news agency. Under the leadership of head coach Vahan Mikayelyan, the following karate players are going to participate in the World Championship: Erik Khachatryan, Hovhannes Hakobyan, Simon Movsisyan, David Muradyan, Vardan Ghalayan, Samvel Aydinyan, Gevorg Hambardzumyan, Albert Avetisyan, David Makyan, Aharon Sargsyan, Karen Baghdasaryan, Seryoja Sargsyan, Ashot Mkhitaryan, Mikael Mkhitaryan, Lena Gyulumyan, Eva Muradyan, Anita Makyan. Next week the teams will start their trainings at Olimpavan. Our team will leave for Spain on October 12.
