"Erebuni-Yerevan 2799" tobe held under the slogan "Yerevan, City of Love"
Aram Sukiasyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, coordinator of the "Erebuni-Yerevan 2799" working group, presented a program of events dedicated to the day of the foundation of the capital “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” at a press conference in Yerevan Municipality. It was mentioned that this year the events will be held in four main components: see, hear, feel and love Yerevan. Talking about cultural programs, Deputy Mayor emphasized that this year the “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” program will feature the slogan "Yerevan, City of Love". Speaking about the main events to be held on October 14, Aram Sukiasyan noted that traditional, rock, jazz, classical and folk music concerts will be organized for the residents and guests of the capital on different stages of Yerevan. This year, the Khachkar Park near the Republic Square subway station will be culturally active. An exhibition titled "My Old and New Yerevan,” “I and My Yerevan” children's celebration concert will be organized here. Erebuni Street will become a unique festival platform for folk art. Photographic pavilions will also be located near Swan Lake. And in the park after Saryan, artists will create "One Canvas Yerevan", which will be donated to Yerevan History Museum. “A number of new programs will be held within the frameworks of "Erebuni-Yerevan 2799" event. On October 14, International Aviation Festival launches from Republic Square, which is going to be held for the first time in Yerevan. For the first time the "Smart city" will also be screened. In the neighborhood of Tamanyan's statue, students from different educational institutions will present their interactive approaches and ideas. A number of exciting sports initiatives are also expected for the City Day program. In addition, there will also be a lot of surprise flash mobs that will launch in different locations and at different times,” mentioned Aram Suqiasyan, adding that “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” the events will end with a youth discotheque and festive fireworks at Liberty Square. Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan also informed that as last year, this year, the festival gala-concert of Republic Square was not included in the program yet. Referring to the social component of the program "Erebuni-Yerevan 2799", Aram Sukiasyan emphasized that starting from October 2 the initiative of assistance to the families of different social and social groups of the capital will be launched. The program includes particularly science, cultural figures, health care workers, honored educators, Syrian-Armenian families, elderly, families having many children and many family members, families in need living in Yerevan, families involved in warfare, including military operations in April, and families of killed soldiers, as well as veterans of the Great Patriotic War, with two servicemen, including a group of young and families included in a number of other social groups. Within the framework of this initiative of the Mayor of Yerevan, traditional households families included in a number of social groups will be provided with different household appliances.
