He does not like jubilee celebrations. The most important things for him are positive feelings and serving music. Tomorrow Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall hosts the renowned violinist and Borodin string quartet headed by him within the framework of the 11th Yerevan International Festival. The concert is devoted to Ruben Aharonyan's 70th birth anniversary. The sQuartet will perform Shostakovich's No. 6 quartet, which is one of their favorite works. Hugo Wolf's serenade and Schubert's quartet will performed. In the second part of the concert, Ruben Aharonyan will perform as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra. "I have never stooped keeping in touch with the Quartet after Komitas. I have adopted the artistic approaches and principles of this Quartet," says Aharonyan. For him, Yerevan remains a beloved and dear city, where he returns every year, if not with a concert, at least for a few days, finding time between his tour and recording schedules.
