Tax inspector demand and receives bribe from entrepreneur

The Special Investigation Service of Armenia instituted criminal proceedings on the basis of R. SH., a resident of Shirak region, regarding the demand and receipt of a bribe by the employee of the Gyumri Tax Inspection of the Committee of State Revenues of the RA. R. SH. reported to the Special Investigative Service that in June of 2016, A.H., Chief Inspector of Gyumri Regional Tax Inspectorate of the RA SRC, visiting the cars spares shop, belonging to him in Ashotsq, Shirak region, demanded 20000 to be paid to him every month, threatening that otherwise inspections would be conducted in the store and the owner would be fined. R. F, being afraid of the inspector’s threats, totally paid 115,000 AMD bribe to the inspector, from February 2016 to April 2017 . A special case was initiated by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia on the cases of receiving and giving bribes to the RA State Revenue Committee official, according to Part 1 of Article 311 and 312 of the RA Criminal Code. Investigation is underway.
