Wrestler Karen Aslanyan – champion of World Military Wrestling Championship

Member of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team Karen Aslanyan (66 kg) became the champion, defeating Alexei Kijanki, the representative of the Russian Federation at the 2017 World Military Wrestling Championships in Klaipeda, Lithuania.

Another member of our team, Armen Hakobyan (71kg), won the silver medal in the final, winning the Russian Adam Kurakin.

It should be noted that the World Military Wrestling Championships 2017 started on September 20 and ends today, on September 23. The Armenian Greco-Roman style team participated in the championship with the following staff: Vazgen Khachatryan (59 kg), Karen Aslanyan (66 kg), Armen Hakobyan (71 kg), Arman Baghdasaryan (75 kg), Rafael Manukyan (80 kg), Argishti Abgaryan (85 kg), Vagharshak Minasyan (98 kg) and Eduard Khachatryan (130 kg).
