On September 20, Edward Nalbandyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Elizabeth Millar, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, Fiona Hillin, Director of European Affairs of the National Security Council, and Brigitte Brink, Assistant Secretary.
A number of issues related to the further development of the Armenian-American friendly partnership were discussed at the meeting.
The interlocutors spoke about the steps to be taken towards the expansion of trade and economic ties and encouragement of investments. In this context both sides highlighted the activities of the Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission, Trade and Investment Armenian-American Council.
They exchanged views on regional issues, particularly on the events, taking place in the Middle East. The American side highly assessed Armenia’s active participation in peacekeeping missions.
US high-ranking diplomats reaffirmed US commitment to to continue active involvement in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair.
