Will Mikhail Saakashvili be arrested on his way to Kiev?

Former Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili has again made an international commotion. The latter was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship and tried to enter Ukraine through Poland. At first he tried to cross the border on train, but it did not move until Saakashvili did not leave the carriage. The next experience, which ended successfully, was a bus trip. Together with his supporters, he literally broke the frontier barrier and crossed the border.

To remind, that Mikhail Saakashvili got Ukrainian citizenship already in 2015 (in the result of which lost his Georgian citizenship) and until November, 2016, occupied the post of governor of Odessa. Then he resigned and moved to the United States. Mikhail Saakashvili was also deprived of Ukrainian citizenship by Poroshenko’s command.

The Georgian politician has many supporters and has gained a reputation as a justice and human rights defender. However, a case was also brought against him in the homeland where the former president was accused of illegal possession of a wealthy Georgian Patarkatsishvili’s property, attacking one of the MPs, hindering the investigation of a banker’s murder, as well as embezzlement of state property.

And now, Georgian side urges Ukrainian authorities to extradite Mikheil Saakashvili. The latter demands  from the government his security as a refugee.

Under such conditions it is very difficult to predetermine the further course of events. Mikhail Saakashvili is one of the politicians whose steps are unpredictable and depend only on his own sweeping decisions.
