New fire spots detected in Byurakan forests
On September 3, at 15:26 an alarm was received that in Aragatsotn region on a mountain, in the forest, adjacent to the village of Byurakan, fire broke out. Two firefighting and emergency response teams left for the scene. 72 firefighter-rescuers, forestry 30 employees, 25 policemen and approximately 115 citizens of Byurakan and Orgov villages are taking part in firefighting activities. Firefighting operations are supervised by the head of the RS regional rescue department, RS colonel A. Amirjanyan. According to preliminary information, about 20 hectares of vegetation and forest covered area have been burnt. At 11:10 new fire spot was detected. Additional information will be given. MES
