Ambassador: “Presenting Armenia appropriately is our main goal” (video)
From July 23 to 29 the first week of Armenian films was held in three large cities of Iran-Tehran, Shiraz and Mashhad. It was organized by the RA Embassy to Iran. From dozens of films presented by the RA Ministry of Culture, 10 films by Aram Shahbazyan, Aren Vatyan, Vigen Chaldranyan, Mikayel Poghosyan and other Armenian filmmakers were selected, which screening was organized by Iranian “Art and experience” cultural organization. During the screenings discussions dedicated to history of Armenian filmmaking, currents trends of film development were organized with the participation of Armenian and Iranian filmmakers and experts. Artashes Tumanyan, the RA Ambassador to Iran, assessing the importance of the week of Armenian films in the context of Armenia-Iran cultural partnership, highlighted the commitment of the Armenian side of making such events continuous. Ambassador Tumanyan noted, “Presenting Armenian culture and Armenia in Iran in an appropriate way is our main goal, and in terms of that this event was an important step.”
