A Yerevan court today sentenced Ani Hovhannisyan, the director of Analitik.am, to one-and-a-half years in prison for demanding or extorting money from Armenian lawmaker Tigran Urikhanyan. Hovhannisyan has been in detention for one year and three months. Her lawyer Liparit Simonyan says they are going to dispute the decision. The prosecutor had asked the court to jail Ani Hovhannisyan for three-and-a-half years. Ani Hovhannisyan had from the lawmaker a monthly payment of 300,000 drams for not publishing fake information about him, his family members, his parliamentary activities, as well as other defaming and discrediting materials.
