The executive body today approved “Clean Armenia” action plan and timetable. Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Davit Lokyan noted that in Armenia there isn’t culture of not polluting the environment, “Rough administrative norms will be established for those, who will not follow the rules; the actions’ plan till the end of the year will be drafted.” The Minister assured that the range of activities was prepared- Saturday cleanings, fencing of current garbage sites. “There is a big propaganda block, but there are financial problems, we try to acquire AMD 30-35 million resources from the international structures, which will be directed to those propaganda measures,” said Davit Lokyan. After the Government session, the Minister presented details of the project, “The bill, which we transferred to the Ministry of Justice, includes very rough mechanisms. The minimum fine is AMD 16 000, for large companies it reaches AMD 300 000.” The Minister thinks that a citizen throwing a cigarette on the ground must be fined AMD 16 000, so that the same not be repeated for the second time. As for propaganda means, there will be special cups, hats, which will hold calls like ‘Keep environment clean’ etc. In reply to the observation of “A1+” whether those measures won’t be additional expenses, especially when the Minister himself noted that there are financial problems, Davit Lokyan noted, “Money isn’t allocated from the state budget, for the implementation of those actions, everything is done with private investments.” He also stated that such measures will teach people to keep the environment clean.
