Court wants to involve public defenders into the case of Sasna Dzrer
Toros Torosyan, one of the 18 members of “Sasna Dzrer” doesn’t want any public defender, but the Court decided to provide him a public defender, as his advocate Liparit Simonyan hasn’t attended the court hearings for already 4th time. Today the advocate has sent a note to the court, informing that he has another court hearing at another court. The decision of the judge on provision of the public defender aroused the discontent of the defense side. Hrant Gevorgyan notes that there is an impression that the court wants to hold court hearings with only public defenders, and Inesa Petrosyan added, “Will public defenders be someone’s stooge?” Today the judge decided to check whether defendants Tigran Manukyan and Tatul Tamrazyan want to have public defenders. Their advocate Monika Margaryan also wasn’t present at the court hearing. The defendants noted that they don’t refuse their advocate and they don’t need public defenders. Today Tigran Manukyan, who was present at the court hearing, wanted to speak, but the judge reprimanded him, in reply to which Tigran Manukyan said, “The court isn’t brilliant with its discipline in order to teach us discipline.” Advocate Lusine Sahakyan also wasn’t taking part in the court hearing. She is on holiday. In reply to the question of judge Artush Gabrielyan whether the absence of Lusine Sahakyan wasn’t an obstacle for continuing the court session, Yervand Varosyan answered that the only obstacle is that the defendants aren’t in the courtroom, and presented a mediation to immediately bring them to the hall. Davit Gyurjyan also joined the mediation and noted that if the defendants aren’t brought to the courtroom, they will leave the room as well. At the moment the judge announced a break in order to get acquainted with the record presented by the bailiffs, which relate to Mushegh Shushanyan, Nina Karapetyants and Arayik Papikyan.
