Irrespective of the registered results, Mammadyarov-Nalbandian meeting was very important, Garnik Isagulyan, Advisor of NKR permanent representation, told the journalists, “We didn’t have great expectations from this meeting; many experts claim that such meetings, which don’t give any serious results, are meaningless, but I don’t agree.”
Garnik Isagulyan noted that the RA MFA during the meeting highlighted that agreements reached in Vienna and St Petersburg must be realized excluding use of force.
The OSCE Minsk Group already speaks of the self-determination of Artsakh people.
“The right to self-determination of Artsakh people is a primary issue for us; it is a very important highlight, which the Armenian side does at the highest levels. In Brussels as well Nalbandian maintained that stance.”
Garnik Isagulyan also stressed the importance of preventive actions, “In case of preventive actions, we make it clear for Azerbaijan that we can prevent any accumulation, any danger beforehand.”
Isagulyan noted that Artsakh should be a part of the negotiations process, but at the same time Armenia shouldn’t put forward that issue roughly, as it will be a strategic error.
