In the NA Standing Committees today the discussions on the performance of 2016 state budget continued. Mrs Zohrabyan’s question was addressed to Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan and related to contemporary literature and writers, “I know someone, who wrote ‘Why does the horse neigh or whinny?’ and became a member of the Writers’ Union. The situation is terrible. After my previous statement all the creative unions protested, asking so in that case what the socially vulnerable class should do. There is an impression that those unions either distribute benefits or book publishing financed by the state is a form of pension for the socially vulnerable. No one reads 90 percent of those contemporary writers. Publishers themselves will pursue talented people.” Armen Amiryan said that he is 100 percent agrees with the lawmaker, “I 100 percent agree with you and your approaches are included in next year’s program.” Naira Zohrabyan is also interested in the future of Hayfilm; what projects of rehabilitation have been proposed? “No investor is interested in Hayfilm. For the rehabilitation of film industry the law on film should be adopted and film school should be established. If 10 normal movies are shot, investors will be found.” Question of Luiza Sargsyan, lawmkaer from Tsarukyan alliance, referred to excursions, “Today when we say excursion, children understand going to a restaurant. Don’t you think that a concrete list of museums must be formed, according to which excursions will be organized for the pupils.” The Minister agreed with the lawmaker, promising to work on formation of lists on visits to museums.
