Pashik Alaverdyan does not want to throw state funds down the drain

“On the whole, our coaches are pleased with us, but I am not very happy as I was unable to raise 246 kg,” Armenian weightlifter Somin Martirosyan, said today. Martirosyan became the world junior weightlifting champion on June 23 when he won the men’s over 105 kilograms snatch and clean and jerk events to claim to overall title on the final day of the International Weightlifting Federation Junior World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. “Do you think that the coaches are satisfied with you? You won a gold medal, but we are not fully satisfied with your performance,” said Pashik Alaverdyan, the head coach for the men's weightlifting team of Armenia and Secretary General of the Weightlifting Federation.
