Yervand Mkrtchyan and Levon Aghasyan are first in their sports
In European Athletics Team Championships Third League held in Malta Armenia’s team took the 6th place out of 10 teams. Our team had 16 athletes. Levon Aghasyan and Yervand Mkrtchyan performed more successfully, and gained victory at triple jump and 3000 m run respectively. Yervand Mkrtchyan was the second also in 1500 m run. In women’s competitions, Ellada Alverdyan took the 2nd place at 3000 m obstacle race. Ellada Alaverdyan (400 m obstacle race), Yana Abrahamyan (triple jump), Lilit Harutyunyan (800 and 1500 m run), Tigran Mkrtchyan (400 and 800 m run), Melik Janoyan (spear throw), Gayane Chiloyan (200 m obstacle race), Manuk Manukyan (discus throw), Yervand Mkrtchyan (3000 m run) took the third places. Team counting: Luxembourg, 317 points Bosnia, 266 Georgia, 262 Malta, 261.5 Montenegro, 243.5 ARMENIA, 217 Macedonia, 179 Andorra, 132 San Marino, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar (united team), 118 Azerbaijan, 90 Armenian team was headed by the President of Armenian Federation of Athletics, Robert Emmiyan and Head Coach Misha Hayrapetyan.
