Taking Arayik Khandoyan, member of Sasna Dzrer group, to the isolation cell for 5 days aims at putting pressure on him, thinks Khandoyan’s advocate Arayik Papikyan. The latter touches upon the fact of finding “forbidden object”- money- with Arayik Khandoyan, as a result of which Khandoyan was transferred to isolation cell. “The same punishment could be limited to 1-2 days. He was taken to the isolation cell for 5 days, which means that they want to show that Khandoyan will be punished with all the severity of the punishment. He could even have been given a written notice,” the advocate told “A1+”. He says that the RA law on “Treatment of arrestees and detainees” doesn’t prohibit having cash or bank accounts and making transfers, though, the issue is regulated by the inner rules of the PI. “Inner rules hadn’t been presented to Arayik Khandoyan. I do not rule out that inner rules do not allow it but that document hadn’t been presented to Arayik Khandoyan, but they cite to that document and consider it to be a violation. It is unacceptable,” added the advocate. Arayik Papikyan doesn’t rule out that Arayik Khandoyan may have taken the money for buying water or pills, “It is possible that he could have asked the judge to give him water and medicine or to buy cigarettes, taking into account previous court hearings, when he was brought to the court for hours without food, medical supervision and water.” Arayik Khandoyan will be freed from isolation cell tomorrow. He feels good. The court hearing into the case will continue on June 28.
