Georgia sells our archive materials (video)

“Archives of our country are like our people- spread around the world. They must be collected and brought to Armenia,” said Amatuni Virabyan, Director of the National Archive of Armenia, “Georgian archives have more materials about Armenia in 1920, than we, but now we are collecting all and brining them into Armenia.” Amatuni Virabyan, though, regrets to say that archive materials relating to us in the neighboring country are sold to us, “We pay for the copies of those materials, each page is about 2 GEL and it doesn’t matter which kind of document it is.” The National Archive is also going to publish one collection, a final source, where all the materials on the first Republic of Armenia will be gathered. It will include all the important documents, which have been recently obtained by the National Archive. Another collection will be dedicated to the servicemen, who gained May victories, but were unable to live through 1937 and were exiled and killed. Few documents have been maintained about military actions in 1918, as servicemen were given oral commands.
