President of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan today commented on press reports about the sale of FC Pyunik which was founded by him. “In the past ten years, I have repeatedly said that someone shows up and says he is ready to [head the club] and I believe that he is the person who can sponsor the club, I am ready to give Pyunik to that person for nothing. Recently, I found that person who instilled hope in me and I believe that he will keep Pyunik as a value. There was no talk of selling the club. No one can say he has given even a penny to the Hayrapetyan family. We have given 100 percent of shares to that person who will spoor and keep Pyunik. Asked whether the club would be renamed, Mr Hayrapetyan said it is up to the new owner to decide after putting the issue up for public discussion. “I also think that a better Armenian name can be chosen for the club.” Ruben Hayrapetyan also dismissed the rumours that he was going to step down as the FFA President. “I cannot understand who spread such information? The FFA has one president and it is me.” “I am not going to leave Armenia. I simply have a house in Artsakh and I spent half of the month there.” I can to this press conference because I do not want people to say that I am leaving Armenia,” he continued. The FFA president did not like the next question concerning his relations with Hrachya Rostomyan, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs. “Who is Hrachya Rostomyan? I do not know such a person. Change the question,” he said. Speaking about the atmosphere in the national team, Mr Hayrapetyan said, “We're like a family. Everyone there, starting from coaches to football players, lick one another…”
