Postanjyan tries to present Serzh Sargsyan's biography n court /updated/ (video)
17:50 Hearing of an appeal by the Yerkir Tsirani party continues in a Yerevan court.
Zaruhi Postanjyan, the founding leader of the party was presenting Serzh Sargsyan’s biography some time ago, when the judge interrupted her saying that ‘the biography of the country’s president has nothing to do with the trial.’
In reply, Postanjyan sad that she was trying to expose the connection between courts and Baghramyan 26 (Presidential Palace) which will make it clear that the court cannot make a fair decision and should therefore resign.
16.30 After a short recess, the judge decided to continue the sitting though the opposition representative was still in the courtroom. The court bailiffs had been unable to remove Stella Aghajanyan from the courtroom which resulted in jostle and bustle.
Zaruhi Postanjyan’s representative filed a petition to oust the judge for his biased attitude.
15.50 The Administrative Court is studying on Friday an appeal by Zaruhi Postanjyan’s party demanding to annul the results of the May 14 municipal elections in Yerevan.
The party filed an appeal with the Court, claiming large-scale fraud and violations, including vote buying, by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK).
Hardly had the sitting started when it was interrupted by the judge. While Zaruhi Postanjyan was making a speech, the judge reprimanded Stella Aghajanyan, a representative of the Yerkir Tsirani party. The bailiffs tried to execute the judge’s order and take the woman out of the court, but the latter disobeyed them
The judge announced that he would not resume the sitting unless the woman was removed from the courtroom. Police officers were grouped outside the court building.
During the May 14 elections, Postanjyan's Yerkir Tsirani party polled nearly 8 percent of the vote in the 65-seat Council of Elders.
