A piece of Paris in Yerevan… La Boheme – an unprecedented ballet dedicated to renowned chansonnier Charles Aznavour will be premiered at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiarian. We do not want to shock the audience, rather, we want to attract young people, our future audience, to the theatre with a contemporary approach,” said script writer and choreographer Rudolf Kharatian. He thanked Constantine Orbelian, the artistic director of the theatre, for his efforts to bring out the theatre from ‘narrow frame’ thinking and leading it to an international arena. Mr Kharatian added that La Boheme is the performance that can represent Armenia to the world. The premiere set for May 29 will be attended by Charles Aznavour. Rudolf Kharatian says he has kept contact with the singer and agreed each episode of the ballet with him.
