Remains of Armenian soldiers killed in 1942 unearthed in Chechnya

Terek -2016 was held in Naurus region of Chechnya from March 23 to April 5. Searches were conducted during the event which unearthed the remains of some 70 Soviet soldiers and officers who participated in the fighting in the region in 1942 during World War II. Among them were also remains of Armenian soldiers. “Now we trying to find and inform the relatives of the deceased invite them to the funeral rites. The Chechen Republic is preparing for the burial of the soldiers but the exact date is not known yet,”Andrey Fetisov, who heads the excavation group in Naurus region, told Rusarminfo news portal.
