Chairmen of standing committees already known
During the second day of its work the Armenian legislature elected heads of nine standing committees. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) nominated Hakob Hakobyan as Chairman of the merged Standing Committee on Healthcare, Maternity, Childhood and Social Affairs. Tsarukyan alliance, the second largest parliamentary faction, nominated Naira Zohrabyan as Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration. The HHK also proposed Armen Ashotyan as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Koryun Nahapetyan as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affair, Hrayr Tovmasyan as Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Gagik Minasyan as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs and Khosrov Harutyunyan as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs. Tsarukyan alliance will also head the remaining two standing committees: Vardan Postanjyan will chair the Standing Committee on Science, Culture and Education, and Vardevan Grigoryan will head the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Local Self-Government.
