Edmon Marukyan, member of Yelk (Way out) political bloc, recorded during today’s press conference that the results of the elections were formed as a result of citizens’ vote, and Yelk bloc was able to keep each person’s vote. Nikol Pashinyan, candidate for Mayor from Yelk block at Yerevan Council of Elders Elections, announced that he will withdraw his candidacy and will work at the National Assembly. The bloc hasn’t discussed yet who the head of the faction and secretary will be. At Yerevan Council of Elders elections Yelk bloc received 1000 votes more from Yerevan than during the parliamentary elections, “We have sustainable confidence in Yerevan and in general in Armenia, we aim at increasing the number of our supporters. Our political activities will be directed to that goal,” said Nikol Pashinyan. Yelk bloc may turn to the CEC for recount at some polling stations, “In reality it will not affect the election results, but we promised that we will be responsible for each vote and we will do like that,” stated Edmon Marukyan. While touching upon failures, Nikol Pashinyan noted, “There are still lots of people, who go to vote for electoral bribe, we weren’t able to convince those people not to do so and hereafter we will aim at solving this issue.” Yelk bloc states that they will be the political trend during the upcoming years, and they hope that by increasing their influence, in the future they will come to power.
