FIDE publishes rankings as of May 1

FIDE has published its rankings as of May1st. Magnus Carlsen continues to head the list of men’s list of classic chess; he has 2832 rating. American Wesley So (2815) and Russian Vladimir Kramnik (2811) come next in the list. Our leading chess player Levon Aronian is on the 6^th place with 2789 rating, going up by three ranks compared with last month. Other two Armenian chess players are included in the list of 100 strongest chess players in the world. Sergey Movsesyan also went up by 3 places and is now on the 64^th place. Vladimir Hakobyan lost 8.2 points in a month and went down by 13 ranks. As of now he is the 83^rd. In the women’s rankings our chess player Elina Danielyan (2451) is on the 28^th place, and Lilit Mkrtchyan (2414) is the 56^th Magnus Carlsen heads also the rankings of rapid and blitz chess. In rapid chess Levon Aronian is the 8^th and in the blitz- 24^th.
