The Constitutional Court has rejected an opposition appeal against the official results of the April 2 parliamentary elections in Armenia. The Congress-HZhK alliance had submitted the CC a 40-page document as well as video and audio material about large-scale fraud demanding to annul the outcome of the April 2 ballot which gave a landslide victory to the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK). None of the alliance representatives was present in the session after the recession. CC Chairman Gagik Harutyunyan said that the Armenian National Congress (HAK) had signed the protocols of all polling stations and actually accepted the election results. Harutyunyan continued his speech saying that 'the appeal was an end in itself and gave rise to political speculations.' Thus, the CC upheld the decision of the Central Electoral Commission.
