Armenia’s Constitutional Court is hearing Tuesday the appeal of the Congress-HZhK alliance which demands that the CC annul the official results of the April 2 parliamentary elections.CC Chairman Gagik Harutyunyan again tried to rebuke Levon Zurabyan for his words, saying ‘you cannot call people criminals, it is your opinion.’ Zurabyan was criticizing the CEC for its ‘involvement in electoral offences.’ At the end of his speech, he promised to submit the 40-page package which he had at hand to the Constitutional Court. “I represent a political force (Armenian National Congress - HAK) which has always been against terrorism, armed revolt, but if this distorted electoral system continues, we shall not be able to restrain people's anger. If people see that it is impossible to achieve regime change through elections, we shall not have any progress,” said Levon Zurabyan. Lawyer Tigran Yegoryan presented their arguments citing incidences of vote buying by the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Armenian Renaissance Party (HVK) and the Tsarukyan bloc, which ranged from money distribution (AMD 5000 to AMD 15 000) to gift cards for beauty salon services, etc.
