Aram Manukyan: “We get stronger only with boast and burning the flag” (video)
“Our nation has historic mission, aim to justice, fair decision, correcting mistakes of the past,” member of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Aram Manukyan said in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and added that there is only one solution to the recognition of the crime, “Only strong Armenia can be a guarantor of recognition of the Genocide. There is no other solution. Bagging the act of recognition of the Genocide from others is a sign of weakness. You must be strong, must be established, must be a factor so that you can make others, demand from others, ask, urge to recognize our justice; yet Armenia is not taking that direction, Armenia is heading completely other way. The situation in which we are now is simply tragic.” HAK member remembers that 10 years ago people passed the way taking to Tsitsernakaberd in 2-2.5 hours; today people pass that road in 25 minutes. It shows the small number of people, “Annually 50 000 people leave Armenia. Daily 150 people do that. This is the real genocide. There is no other way to learn from genocide. We are moving by the opposite way.” According to Aram Manukyan strong Armenia means authorities elected lawfully, neighborly relations with the neighbors, a country having its development route and following it, “I was just marching and thinking, couldn’t we have used these years of independence for strengthening? We get stronger only with boast, burning the flag, swearing at Turks, and those became symbols of patriotism. It isn’t the way for development; we have taken a wrong way of development, which will not contribute to the recognition of the Genocide.”
