Rev. Fr. Movses Manookian defrocked
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Movses Manookian (Armenian Diocese of Georgia) has been defrocked for willfully deserting his spiritual services. The application submitted by His Grace Bishop Vasken Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia; and the conclusion of an investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the Mother See, has served as the basis for the defrockment of Fr. Movses. As of this day, the defrocked clergyman is a member of the laity and shall be known by his baptismal name of Khoren Manookian.
