The decision on two months’ detention of former commander of Defense Army Samvel Babayan will be appealed in the Court of Appeal. As Samvel Babayan’s advocate Avetis Kalashyan told “A1+”, in the court Samvel Babayan announced that he doesn’t admit charges levied against him and he considered it to be obviously baseless. To remind, the RA National Security Service detained Samvel Babayan on March 22 for an attempt to smuggle an Igla anti-aircraft missile system from Georgia into Armenia. Two other people were also detained. They, according to the NSS, were guided by Babayan’s instructions. Samvel Babayan also announced in the court that he had no connection with those two people.
