We observed silence yesterday and did not hold protests and matches,” activist Shahen Harutyunyan said to A1+. In the evening, a candle lighting event was held at the square in memory of Artur Sargsyan. “Fewer people attended the event but I can understand them, the funeral ceremony ended late and it was hard [for people] to come here,” Shahen added. hac berox2 One can see loaves of breads and bread rolls lying in front of Artur Sargsyan’s photo. “People come bringing bread with them. One says he is continuing the work started by Artur, the second says ‘let them [law enforcement agencies] come and arrest him. Opinions differ,” he continued. hac berox1 Shahen Harutyunyan expects to see more people at the square in the evening. “I want people to take to the street and demand punishment for those who are responsible for Artur’s death. We shall press for Prosecutor General's resignation,” he said. The activist says throughout their struggle they have been receiving different messages from the authorities. “One of them is particularly noteworthy. My father was told in prison that if he does not stop me from participating in demonstrations, they will kill me. We receive messages of this type even from the president.”
