Children are cut off art and culture: Puppets amuse kids and adults in a Yerevan park
Mimos Marionette Theatre has organized various events in a park of khachkars (cross-stones) close to the Republic Square on the occasion of World Puppetry Day which is observed annually on March 21.
The art director of the theatre, Nune Jrbashyan, says this is a good opportunity to draw public attention to the problems of puppeteers. “For several years, we have not been allowed to stage performances in schools and kindergartens. In fact, children are cut off art and culture and we are deprived of the audience. Today’s event is also an attempt to fill this gap,” she said.
