Opposition lawmaker Hrant Bagratyan is running for parliament in Constituency N4 which also includes Kentron community. Bagratyan’s Azatutyun (Freedom) Party has teamed up with the Free Democrats party to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Five candidates of the electoral bloc are running for parliament in Constituency N4. “We are running for the National Assembly on a party-list basis. Though the parties and the blocs will have to win at least 5 percent, it does not mean that we shall be satisfied with that 5 percent. Yes, we know and even have evidence that the candidate of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) is bribing voters in our constituency. I cannot speak about other candidates. I am not going to give money to anyone. I shall do what I can do,” says Hrant Bagratyan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK). The candidate says there is no disagreement or intraparty competition in the HAK. Hrant Bagratyan disagrees with the claims that the HHK is cleansing its ranks under the new Electoral Code. “They simply placed young candidates in top positions, while older candidates are included in the party's regional lists.
