Russian border guards in Armenia (video)
The newly-independent Armenia was at war 25 years ago and could have problems with its neighbouring countries over proper border control. Accordingly, in 1992Armenia and Russia signed an agreement on border guards. Under the treaty, border guards of Armenia’s ally, Russia, were to control temporarily the country’s borders with Iran and Turkey. Over years, Armenia developed and had its own border guards but we witnessed other developments in border control. For more details watch the video of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO
