Armenian delegate, International Master Tigran K. Harutyunyan performed more successfully at the Portugal Open 2017 held in Lisbon.
Our 20-year-old chess player in the last 9th round tied with the winner of the tournament Eduardo Iturrizaga and scored 7 points. In total, he shared 3-8 places, but according to additional calculations he was recognized the 5th and gained about 600 euros.
Armenia’s former champion, GM Karen H. Grigoryan in the last round unexpectedly lost the game and took the 18th place with 6 points. The same result was shown by our compatriot Tigran Gharamyan, who was presenting France and took the 17th place.
To note, today the Portugal Open 2017 fast chess tournament will be held and our chess players will also take part in it.
