Mikael Melkumyan, a lawmaker representing the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), today asked Republican Hakob Hakobyan, a co-rapporteur on the draft law on amending the Funded Pensions, whether the private sector would be included in the system or not. “Mr Hakobyan, you are making patriotic speeches here and I am asking you a definite question. Why are you making passionate speeches, beating your chest? Give a straightforward reply to my question. Will the law cover the private sector from July 1?” the BHK lawmaker said. Hakob Hakobyan said he was not the one to beat his chest. He added that the issue of the private sector would be discussed in its due time. Hrant Bagratyan from the Armenian National Congress (HAK) spokes about the policy of the Central Bank. “You are constantly speaking about sustainability of economy, you do not care about the development of the country. You have driven the country into a macroeconomic swamp and continue worsening the situation. What does the Central Bank have to do with investment funds?” the lawmaker said.
