In Armenia, political culture is formed not by the collision of ideas, rather, it is formed through adaptation, says human rights activist Avetik Ishkhanyan. “Everyone wishes to have material possessions; the struggle is carried on for the levers of corruption. A vivid example of this is the formation of alliances before the April parliamentary elections. Of course, they can disagree with me and say that the electoral process does not work in Armenia and forces need to unite in order to win… I have been hearing this tale since the 90s but life shows that their ultimate goal is to take seats in the National Assembly,” he said.
