NKR MoD: Soldier killed by adversary’s shot
On January 22-23 overnight on the Line of Contact between the opposing forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan the adversary violated the ceasefire regime more than 55 times, firing about 430 shots from weapons of different caliber towards the Armenian positions. In the eastern direction of the Line of Contact the Azerbaijani armed forces fired intensive shots from sniper rifles (92 shells), as well as used 82 mm mortar (2 shells). As a result of the ceasefire violation by the adversary, on January 22 at about 23:25, in one of the military units stationed in the eastern direction of the DA, contractual serviceman Karen Marat Ulubabyan (born in 1995) received fatal wound. Investigation is underway to find out details of the incident. The NKR Ministry of Defense shares heavy grief of loss and expresses its support to the family members, relatives and fellow servicemen of the killed soldier.
