Life-termer Armen Ter-Sahakyan resumed his hunger strike on Thursday, January 19, in an effort to call attention to his case, one of his relatives told A1+ Company. Armen Ter-Sahakyan decided to resume his hunger strike after he was denied early release from prison and given a one-year parole postponement. The inmate also demands a meeting with Felix Tsolakyan, who heads the Presidential Control Service. The lifer had been on hunger strike for over a month and had to discontinue it on December 31 because of health problems. Earlier in January he applied to Serzh Sargsyan, asking him to make use of his exceptional right and grant him full parole. Armen Ter-Sahakyan was sentenced to life imprisonment within the framework of the criminal case involving former Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Siradeghyan and others.
