Galust Sahakyan receives Ambassador of India

On January 18, Speaker of the Armenian National Asembly Galust Sahakyan received Yogeshwar Sangwan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Armenia. Welcoming the guest, Galust Sahakyan highly assessed the warm relations existing between the two countries and added that this year is the jubilee in the newest history of bilateral relations: the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be marked. In that context, Mr Sahakyan  recorded with satisfaction that during the last years the Armenian-Indian relations have developed in the atmosphere of mutual trust and mutual understanding and at present continue maintaining the rates of progress in different spheres. In terms of mutually beneficial cooperation, the NA Speaker highlighted the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the active contacts of the Friendship Groups andocumented with satisfaction that the cooperation is at high level. Thanking for the warm reception, Ambassador Yogeshwar Sangwan assured the Armenian official that during his diplomatic mission he will do his best to promote the development and deepening of the Armenian-Indian relations. The interlocutors expressed hope that with the Ambassador’s direct participation and active efforts in the coming years Armenia and India will launch the disclosure of the potential of the cooperation existing between the two states and its full realization. The sides also referred to the NK problem and the parliamentary elections to be held in Armenia in April and other issues.
