NKR MoD refutes Azerbaijan’s news: situation was tense on the border
Information disseminated yesterday, on January 15, by the press service of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense as allegedly Bashirov Fikret Nurshiravanoglu was killed by a shot fired by the Armenian side, doesn’t correspond to reality. We advise the Azerbaijani side to look for the reasons of the serviceman’s death in the interpersonal, non-statutory relations existing in their army. What’s more, on January 15-16 overnight along the entire Line of Contact between the opposing forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, the adversary continued intensively violating the ceasefire regime, using 60 mm and 82 mm mortars together with rifle weapons. Especially the military posts stationed in the eastern and north-eastern sections of the DA were intensively shelled, in the direction of which the adversary fired 51 shells from 60 mm mortar and 3 shells from 82 mm mortar. The DA vanguard units, in order to suppress the adversary’s activity, took retaliatory actions in some directions. The Azerbaijani side will carry full responsibility for consequences of further tension of situation on the front line. In case of continuation of the same behavior by the adversary, the actions of the DA will be stricter. NKR MoD
