Legal successors of the Avetisyan family apply to Court of Cassation
The legal successors of the Avetisyan family today, on the day the family were murdered two years ago, have applied to the Court of Cassation. Arthur Sakunts, representative of the legal successors of the Avetisyans, told “A1+”.
According to his words, during the investigation of the case a number of procedural violations have been registered, which must be observed by the Court of Cassation.
“We have also presented justifications in our appeal to the Court of Cassation why it is necessary that the Court examine our appeal. I think that mechanically attaching the materials of examination of the Russian side to the materials of the RA Investigative Committee is already a gross violation,” said the advocate. He always keeps in touch with the legal successors of the Avetisyans, and he can say that they have no positive expectations from Armenia’s justice system:
“If the Court of Cassation refuses our appeal, we will certainly apply to the European Court of Human Rights.”
And before that the relatives and friends of the Avetisyan family visited their house, where two years ago the horrible murder took place.
To remind, the Court of First Instance of Shirak marz on August 23, 2016 sentenced Valeri Permyakov, serviceman of Russian 102nd military base stationed in Gyumri, to life imprisonment for murder of seven members of the Avetisyan family.
