Aram Satyan: Nostradamus predicted that 2017 would be a positive year; we only have to hope for changes (video)
No steps are taken to encourage artists and promote their activity; their work is not appreciated in Armenia, Aram Satyan, Chairman of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Armenia, said on December 27. “To forget about art and its role means to lead the country to destruction. Other countries spend money to develop art that does not exist while we do the opposite thing,” he said. Mr. Satyan says our compatriots often reach success outside Armenia but when they return to their homeland they face problems after seeing the lack of interest in their victories. “People come [to Armenia] but they remain neglected. No one is interested in their awards and prizes…” He says we need serious changes, and 2017 is the best occasion for it. Nostradamus, a16th century prophet, predicted that 2017 would be a positive year full of changes; we only have to hope for changes. I think the time has come for us to think and I believe that 2017 will be a good and productive year for us.”
