Armenian weightlifters won the first medal at the European Junior & Under 23 Weightlifting Championships in Eilat, Israel. Armenian weightlifter Davit Hovhannisyan (77 kg) came first in U20 tournament and won gold medal with a total of 326 kg (149+177). Latvian Ritvars Suharevs came second with 325 kg, followed by Romanian Doru Stoian.
